이 노래를 들으면 빌레펠트의 12월 저녁 크리스마스 상점이 생각이 납니다.  눈이 내린 저녁 간이 상점에 켜져 있는 촛불을 바라보면, 어느새 한 해가 다 지나가고, 성탄절이 다가옴을 느낄 수 있습니다. 그러면 사람들은 지나가는 행인에게 럼주를 건네면서 인사를 나누지요.

 

 이 시기가 되면 모든 사람들이 자신과 행인들에게서 어떤 성스러운 영혼을 느낄 수 있습니다. 모두가 당신의 마음속에 그리고 내 마음속에 사랑과 평화가 깃들기를..하고 바란답니다. 나는 1988년 겨울 그날 저녁을 결코 잊을 수 없습니다.

 

 

 A Winters Tale 이라는 곡은 여러 개 있습니다. 가령 영국의 그룹 사운드 Queen 역시 이 제목으로 노래를 불렀지요. 그런데 전혀 다른 곡입니다. 12월 추운 겨울 어느 사람은 멀리 떠나 있는 친구와 애인을 그리워하면서 부르는 노래입니다.
